My journey to get ripped abs

My story to get ripped abs may be a little different from the norm. When I was younger I used to be a guy with a really small frame. I always got teased for been the skinny guy. A few regular jokes I heard were; “please don’t turn sideways before you disappear” or my personal favorite; “someone please hold on to John, seems like the wind is picking up and we can’t have him up and float away.” Those were good times, NOT.

Whenever my friends and I went swimming I would always be the guy with his t-shirt on. I didn’t know how to get ripped abs like the ones some of my friends had so I was in no way going to put my ab-less abdominals on display. I was constantly getting shut down by girls because of my body. All the guys with the ripped abs had to do was take off their shirts at a pick-up basketball game and the girls there would be at full attention.

My struggle to get ripped abs

I finally got sick of it so I decided to learn how to get ripped abs. In the beginning of my journey I tried everything. I went to the gym three times a week, did all kinds of crazy ab exercises and even started taking protein shakes, but nothing seemed to get ripped abs on my midsection. That was until I stumbled across Mike Geary’s “Truth About Abs” guide.

In his guide Mike began by outlining the shocking reasons why most people like me aren’t able to figure out how to get ripped abs. This was important because it showed me what I wasn’t supposed to be doing to get ripped, which as it turns out were the exact things I had been doing in the past.

Once I had identified what not to do to get abs I was able to redirect my focus and began taking action on the things I needed to do to get abs fast as outlined by Mike’s guide.

In Mike’s ebook I discovered the way to keep my metabolism cranked all day long and how to get ripped abs without the expense of a gym membership. I’m so thankful for the all the money I was able to save doing this. I also discovered a secret fat burning technique that burns three times the fat in half the time and a little known weapon that Mike has tested and proven to increase fat burning by over 300% to get ripped abs sooner. My heavier buddies owed me big after they also began seeing results after I revealed those tricks from the guide to them.

One setback I experienced while using Mike’s guide was the fact that he wasn’t there in the room with me while I was doing some of those more complicated exercises. However, support was always an email or phone-call away with quick responses to my questions. My Ripped Abs

Just like you I used to wonder how to get ripped abs. I tried every method I could get my hands on but I still wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. I achieved a small amount of definition in my mid-section but just couldn’t get those extra set of muscles to push through.

Little did I know that I was committing the five biggest mistakes that most people make when trying to get ripped abs. These mistakes are outlined by Mike Geary, in his popular abs guide Truth About Abs.

1. Using Traditional Ab Exercises to get ripped abs

Ask anyone to mention some exercises that can be used to get ripped abs and you’ll hear things like crunches, leg lifts, and side bends. I used to be one of those people but that was because I didn’t know any better. I was shocked to hear that those are the least effective exercises to lose belly fat and get ripped.

According to John, those exercises don’t do much in terms of increasing your metabolism, burning stomach fat, or stimulating your fat burning hormones which are all necessary on your way to get ripped. He discussed how those exercises can lead to poor posture and even a bigger waist if done improperly. This is the complete opposite of getting ripped abs.

2. Using bodybuilding techniques to get ripped abs

Bodybuilding techniques are not a good way to get abs fast due to the fact that bodybuilding exercises are typically designed to isolate and train muscle groups one at a time. I have learned that this is not the best way to lose belly fat.

I learned instead to use exercises that required my body to stabilize itself. Once I made this discovery I was burning more calories than bodybuilders do because my body was working to stabilize itself rather than having a machine do it for me. Since the abs function as an important stabilizer in the body they were indirectly exercised during every routine I did and soon enough I began to get ripped abs.

3. Doing Typical Cardio Workouts to get ripped abs

It seems like everyone including personal trainers, coaches, and even bodybuilders are convinced that the fastest way to drop body fat and get ripped abs is by doing these long, boring cardio routine. I used to swear by this too but I couldn’t have been any further from the truth.

To get ripped abs you need to burn a significant amount of fat from your cardio. ‘Truth about abs’ proved to me that typical cardio, despite popular opinion, doesn’t burn enough fat during the workout. Even worse, it did nothing to raise my metabolism as I went throughout my day. Definitely not the best route if you want to get ripped.

In order to get ripped abs fast I needed to perform exercises that not only burned a good amount of fat during my workout but also kept burning fat way after my workout was over.
